Macmillan Cancer Support launches curated App Library for people living with cancer

Written by ORCHA | Jul 16, 2026

Macmillan Cancer Support has launched a dedicated app library, giving people with cancer access to independently assessed digital health tools to support them throughout their cancer experience.

Every product in the library has been independently evaluated for clinical safety, usability, privacy and security by ORCHA, so that anyone with cancer in the UK can find and use apps with confidence.

Supporting people with the right tools, at the right time

The Macmillan App Library is designed around the needs of people living with cancer. It covers a range of cancer types and care pathway stages, from diagnosis through treatment and into ongoing support.

Many apps are specific to cancer whilst others relate to common needs such as help with managing feelings, sleep, pain and the practicalities of living with a long-term health condition. People can self-manage, stay informed, and access trusted resources beyond clinical settings. Explore the Macmillan App Library here.

Dr Anthony Cunliffe, Lead Medical Adviser at Macmillan Cancer Support, said:

"People living with cancer are increasingly turning to apps to help them manage their health, find information, and feel less alone. What's been missing is a reliable way to know which tools are actually safe and worth their time. This library gives people living with cancer exactly that: a trusted starting point, backed by independent assessment, so they can focus on what matters."

Liz Ashall-Payne, Founder of ORCHA, said:

"Digital health has enormous potential to support people living with cancer, but only when they can trust that the tools they're using are safe and effective. We're proud to work with Macmillan to put quality-assured digital health in the hands of people who need it."

Open to relevant technologies across oncology

Macmillan and ORCHA are committed to building the most relevant and complete library possible for people living with and affected by cancer. Digital health companies with products relevant to cancer care and support are encouraged to apply to be part of the scheme.

Products seeking inclusion are assessed through ORCHA's platform, from first-time assessment through to ongoing reassessment as products evolve. Companies interested in applying to be included on the library can contact ORCHA.
